This issue publishes tales — “The Liquid Time” by Vladimir Berezin, “The Time of My Life” by Anna Lavrinenko, “The School for Young Soldier Skills” by Dmitry Bavilsky. Also — stories “Instead of Vision” by Ildar Abuzyarov and “Submarines” by Irina Bogatyryova. The poetry section of this issue is made up of the new poems by Olesya Nikolayeva, Oleg Khlebnikov, Irina Yevsa, Sergey Solovyov, Vyacheslav Kupriyanov and Aleksey Parin.
The sectional offerings are as following:
Close And Distant: “In the Mountains, the Reign of Martial Evil” — an article by Nikolay Markelov, the chief inspector of Pyatigorsk local museum, highlighting the events of the Caucasus campaign of the 19th century as they are reflected in the Russian classical literature.
World Of Science: “The Charm of Science” — an article by the well-known chemist, academician Anatoly Buchachenko discussing the science knowledge and the ethics of real scholars. Also: “On the Russian Language and the Deciphering of Ancient Texts” — a speech by mathematician Vladimir Uspensky on the occasion of awarding the linguist A. Zaliznyak the Solzhenitsyn prize.
Essais: “The Russian Style”, the collection of essays by Sergey Borovikov — continued.
Comments: “Now Sow, Now Step On” — Alla Latynina discussing the novel by Andrey Dmitriyev “The Joy Bay” and the polemics connected with it.
