SUMMARY
The poetry section of the issue presents new poems by Alexander Mezhirov, Alexei Alekhin and Mikhail Sinelnikov.
We are publishing the novel “The Simpleton” by Anatoly Azolsky, 1996 Booker Prize winner, existentialist prose work “Requiem” by Yevgeny Yelizarov, as well as the short story “The March of Epigones” by Armen Asriyan which gives an account of the war events in Nagorny Karabakh.
The section “From the Heritage” presents the notes “Darya’s Apophthegms” by priest Pavel Florensky.
In the section “Essays of Nowadays” we are publishing the essay “Life on the Karmyanaya” by Mark Kostrov.
Publicistics of the issue is presented by the historical analytical articles “1941: The Secret of Defeat” by Vasily Popov and “By Free Touches” by Sergei Lominadze.
In the section “Far Nearness” we are publishing the first part of the work by Alla Marchenko dealing with the private relations between Russian poets Alexander Blok and Anna Akhmatova.
The section “Les Essais” contains the articles “The Story of One Fall” by Alexander Gorelik presenting a new interpretation of the short story “The Fir-Tree” by Mikhail Zoshchenko, and “Olesha and the Heir” by Nikita Yeliseyev.
The section “Literary Criticism” is presented by the article “People of Noah’s Age” by Tatyana Kasatkina.
In the section “Editor’s Mail” we are publishing the letter “Gleb Shulpyakov v. Ilya Erenburg” by Alexander Rubashkin.
