Poetry section. Dedication to the jubilee of ALEXANDER REVICH.
Alexander Revitch is 90! And the poems written by him in the year of this honorable jubilee strike by powerful energy, ruthless soberness of mind, sorrow, sympathy and pain. In this issue we present a collection of new poems by A. Revich and his interview with the member of “DN’s” editorial board Natalia Igrunova.
We wish to Alexander Mikhailovich many happy years and highly appreciate the fact that he publishes his poems in our magazine only.
RAVIL BUKHARAEV. Taiga Vineyard. Long short story.
In one time this theme used to be extremely popular both in play writing and in prose and cinema: a detached view of a stranger permitting to see what is usual in a different way. Even under the hard press of the Soviet censorship this device helped to create some likeness of socially significant works. The protagonist of this long short story who happened to find himself in the Altai Territory during the obscure years of stagnation also is a kind of “stranger”. But the question is: who tries who in this situation.
VLADIMIR DEGOEV. On the Way to the Inevitable.
This is another historical essay of V. Degoev’s series of essays “Useful History”. Its task is defined by the author as follows: “…to propose to those who will read it calmly, without great-power ecstasy or bombast repentance to look at the arising and formation of the Russian Empire which acquiring new territories was acting much more accurately and mercifully than other great powers as shows the example of joining of the Crimea Khanate”.
LEV SIMKIN. Putch.
“We were lucky or, on the contrary, unlucky because in our lifetime “the time got out of joint”. The circumstances of the new life fell in on us and we couldn’t even make arrangements between us about what was it”, — says the author. His essay present pictures and sketches of the three putch days watched by a detached or nearly detached eye-witness.
