Armenia is one of those places on the Earth where the Russian literature is surrounded by nearly the same love as in Russia itself. Much in the same way Armenian culture is an everlasting love for Russia. Thus this Armenian issue of “DN” is a tribute to the unbroken tradition of interrelations.
In this issue the readers will meet again with the works of the authors who are well known and loved in Russia for a long time such as poets SILVA KAPUTIKYAN, RAZMIK DAVOYAN, prosaists AGASI AIVAZYAN, LEVON HECHOYAN. A special set of stories and essays by the late classic of Armenian literature GRANT MATEVOSYAN is dedicated to his seventieth anniversary.
We publish a very interesting novel “Landslide” by VAGRAM MARTIROSYAN — a new author for us; unknown for the Russian readers stories by WILLIAM SAROYAN; charming memoirs by AIDA AZNAVOUR on her famous brother Charle; narration of DAVID MURADYAN “Europe on the Wheels”; an article by LEVON ANANYAN “Armenia and Problems of Globalization”; meditations on literature by GEORGY KUBATYAN and many other works.
The choice might be different: today’s Armenian culture is rich and diverse, but we can’t present all at once and there is no need — in the end of this issue we willingly put: “To be continued”.
